Throwback Thursday: Alicia Alonso & Erik Bruhn

Alicia Alonso was the prima ballerina in Cuba. She was worshiped the world over for her out of this world dancing, and later, the technical skill and beauty she has passed on to Ballet Nacional de Cuba, her Cuban school of ballet and national dance company.
Here, she performs the Act II Pas de Deux in one of her most famous roles — Giselle — with Erik Bruhn at Jacob’s Pillow in 1955. Watch the video on Jacob’s Pillow Dance Interactive.
