I got this great camel colored merino wool at the Sheep and Wool Festival.  You can see the beginnings of a scarf I am making using a Shadow Cable type of stitch.  If you want to knit along, here is the pattern:

Cast on 44 stitches.

Row 1:  Slip 1 and then purl across (all wrong side, odd numbered rows)

Row 2:  Slip 1 and then knit across.

Row 4: Slip 1, knit 1, C4B, (K4, C4B) across to last 6 stitches.  K6.

Row 6:  Slip 1 and then knit across.

Row 8:  Slip 1, K5, C4F, (K4, C4F) across to last 2 stitches.  K 2.

Repeat Rows 1-8.
