I love it when life hands me something so surreal, I simply must write about it. Since last fall, I’ve been compiling subway short stories, of exactly 100 words. It has not been difficult to find stories to write about; all of them are based on actual events.

This morning, I got on the 1 train and noticed several passengers starring at one end of the train. I thought maybe I was still groggy from a late night, but I found myself looking at a young lady, extremely tattooed and pierced, with a large snake coiled around her one arm – an intriguing accessory for sure. The guy who sat down next to her was braver than I.

I would love to hear others’ subway stories. Please please feel to leave them in the comment section below or e-mail them in.
