Downtown Cool at NY Fashion Week

 In Archives, Uncategorized

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Well…not exactly. But, it is Fashion Week! Which means New York is even more overrun than usual with extremely well dressed, fashionable people and six-foot tall, gorgeous models. February Fashion Week is actually my favorite of the year because designers show collections for their upcoming Fall season. This means the collections more closely match the weather we all are experiencing right now. (Unless you live in LA. If you do, well then I’m super jealous and at the same time, think we should be friends. If we’re not already.)

Below are some of my favorite looks thus far from Band of Outsiders, Alexander Wang, Doo.Ri, United Bamboo, and Mandy Coon. My own personal style definitely tends to a more downtown aesthetic, so these collections were right up my alley. I am particularly in love with that tie dye maxi dress and belt from Mandy Coon!

I also fell completely in love with Rebecca Minkoff’s entire collection, which I posted about here. Let’s just say there’s a leopard jumpsuit involved. Amazing!

Someday, I would really love to attend a show at Fashion Week. But I have to say – I watched a live feed of DKNY’s runway show in my pajamas Sunday morning with coffee in hand (okay, I confess, it was the afternoon) and it wasn’t such a bad way to go!  You can find live feeds over at style.com if you’d like to watch too. I am SO excited for Proenza Schouler’s show on Wednesday night at 8 pm!

Now, how badly did I just make you want to go shopping?

You. are. welcome.
