1. DD Dorvillier: A Catalogue of Steps

As part of her platform series at Danspace Project, Diary of an Image, DD Dorvillier presents pieces of her work from 1990-2004, as a  living and breathing “catalogue.” Dancers  Katherina Anreou, Oren Barnoy, and Nibia Pastrana perform throughout the day on Wednesday, May 28th, focusing on one category of steps from Dorvillier’s body of work. Performances both in and outside St. Mark’s church sanctuary will continue into June along with the rest of the series, which includes curated solos this week by all three catalogue performers, Walter Dunderville, and Heather Kravas.

Wednesday May 28th, 12-3, free.

2. John Jasperse: Within between

The always thoughtful, and often wickedly funny, John Jasperse returns to New York Live Arts with Within Between, with collaborators Maggie Cloud, Simon Courchel, Burr Johnson,  and Stuart Singer.

Watch free online on May 29 here.

May 28-May 31 at 7:30, New York Live Arts, $30. Post-show talk May 29th with Tere O’Connor.

Claire Salant discovered dance when she was six years old in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She moved to New York to go to Barnard College, where she studied history, math, and dance. She is freelance dancer in New York, academic teacher to students of all ages, and she occasionally finds ways to combine the two. Currently she is working through a dance injury, and is therefore engaging the dance world off her feet rather than on them!
