Dancing Outside the Bun Takes on the Harlem Shake
The Average Joe probably doesn’t have a clue about classical ballet’s like Sleeping Beauty or Swan Lake, and the Average Jane may likely not understand the daily life of a ballet.
A side project of some Colorado Ballet dancers, Dancing Outside the Bun is kooky, entertaining, and helping make ballet more approachable to a mainstream audience. Through satirical posts, pictures, and videos, the site proves that dancers have a sense of humor and know when it’s time to get down and funky.
Back in the fall, I shared the site’s video “Puss n’ Boots Style,” a side-splitting parody of PSY’s “Gangnam Style.” After a recent visit to the site, I found another share-worthy bit…
So, now, I ask that you take a break from whatever it is that you are doing on this fine Thursday afternoon and enjoy Dancing Outside the Bun and the dancers of the Colorado Ballet in the Harlem Shake.

Hours of entertainment on that site! Thanks for sharing!
Colorado Ballet is pretty good, but I think everyone should also check out North Carolina Dance Theatre’s version of the Harlem Shake. I think Mark Diamond nails it.

One of the Wonderbound/Ballet Noueavu dancers has a pretty impressive Harlem Shake as well. Maybe we should host a Shake-Off : )
