Following their successful run of performances in June, Marilyn Klaus’s one-of-a-kind dance company, Ballets with a Twist, will perform her original evening-length ballet Cocktail Hour with special guest Cyndi Lauper, at XL Nightclub. The club is donating the space for this event which will be a fundraiser benefiting Cyndi Lauper’s organization, the True Colors Fund, an organization that strives to “bring an end to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth homelessness.”

Cocktail Hour brings signature drinks to life such as the Martini, Mai Tai, Gimlet, Mint Julep, and Shirley Temple to the original music of Grammy Award-nominated Stephen Gaboury and elaborate costumes designs by Catherine Zehr.

Ballets with a Twist has been gaining attention by the New York Times, Wallstreet Journal, and the Huffington Post; the company is quickly carving its own niche in the New York dance community. Klaus’s eclectic background, which ranges from classical to vaudeville, makes her choreography stand out and is attracting a new audience of ballet enthusiasts.

Have a cocktail with the dancers of Ballets with a Twist and catch Cocktail Hour at the XL Nightclub this Thursday, September 20 at 8:00. Click here, to purchase tickets.
