Meet Nate Powell

Nate Powell: Photography by Robert Greer

Hometown: Regina, SK, Canada

Dance Training: Royal Winnipeg Ballet School

Professional Dance Experience: Northern Plains Ballet, Festival Ballet of Providence, Ballet San Antonio, Ballet Idaho, Ballet Montana

What Makes Nate Tick Beyond Performing: Nate confesses that his life is fully devoted to dance – he lives, breaths, and sleeps for it. Therefore, he plans to always stay connected to the stage and dance studio. But, this doesn’t mean that the young ballet dancer isn’t thinking ahead. Nate really enjoys choreographing, and, in fact, will be presenting a pas de deux on Ballet Montana dancers Edward McPherson and Keenan McLaren at our upcoming performances. This is not the first time Nate has choreographed on the summer company, and I betting it won’t be his last either. He has a deep understanding and appreciation for music, which is apparent in his work; and also comes in handy for assisting me with my Music Appreciation homework : ). If any of you lovely cyber Dd-ers are in the Helena, MT area then be sure to check out his premiere at the Myrna Loy Theater on July 27, 28, and 29 at 8pm!
