GO Brooklyn (yes, this is a shameless call for visits and votes)

GO Brooklyn is a time when “Brooklyn-based artists are asked to open their studios to the community…community members registered as voters will visit studios and nominate artists for inclusion in a group exhibition to open at the Brooklyn Museum on Target First Saturday, December 1, 2012.”

This is a formal invite to come to my open studio at Screwball Spaces and observe the magic that is my process unfold. I will be pressing fabric buttons and building a new work over these two days from the detritus leftover from the action of pressing fabric buttons. Bring any special or old fabric and I will press you vintage buttons from it and keep the remains for my project (this is optional, if you are sans cloth, still come say hi!). You can also check out the 78 other participating studios on my floor (including my roommate Spring Hofeldt’s photo realistic paintings), hang out on our couch, and enjoy a stellar view of the BQE from our lovely terrace.

September 8 and 9, 2012

11am-7p (Terrace Party Saturday night)

Oh yes, and vote for me!
