Happy Independence Day (from the Dd Book Club)

In week 3 of Dd’s Book Club, The Rest is Noise takes us deep into American music history (discussion post coming later this week). In honor of Fourth of July, I present to you “On Emancipation Day“, from In Dahomey, by Will Marion Cook. (Perfect for your bbq playlist, click to download song with verse)

Our cyber book club can be joined at any time. You can read on our schedule or your own, and post at anytime. If you haven’t yet, here is how you can get involved:

1. Get the book.

2. Read Chapters 1 and 2 and then post in our Week 1 Discussion.

3. Read Chapter 3 and then post in our Week 2 Discussion. (Week 1 was so lively, and Week 2 needs some love!)

4. Read Chapters 4 and 5 and then post tomorrow in our Week 3 Discussion.

5. Read Chapters 6 and 7 and email me topics, questions, links, and/or videos that will add to our discussion and I will put them directly into next week’s post.

Happy Independence Day!
