Dd Book Club: The Rest is Noise, Week 1

Hope you all have secured a copy of Alex Ross’s The Rest is Noise: Listening to the Twentieth Century.

This week, June 10-16, we are covering Chapters 1 and 2 (and preface). The format for this cyber book club is definitely going to be a work in progress, but let’s start this way: as you read, listen (there is an audio guide), and formulate questions and/or topics of discussion for these chapters, email them to me at hello@diydancer.com or post in the comments here.  On Sunday mornings, I will create a new post posing our collective prompts for the week’s discussion and we can respond in the comments on that post. If something better develops meantime, I am open to going with the flow. (You can find our complete reading schedule here, feel free to join in on a later week if you are late to the game.)

If you are interested in starting a twitter dialogue, use hashtag #Ddbookclub with your tweets.

Der Mahler wishes you a great week and happy reading/listening!
