From Here to There

Just dropped by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis to see Alec Soth’s America. My favorite series in the survey was his newest work Broken Manual, which are photographs of broken men, off the grid, separating themselves from society. There was a human warmth to the subjects which contrasted their cool and sometimes forbidding landscapes of their own choosing.

On the way out, we caught a boutique exhibition of products made by Brooklyn artisans! There were some adorable hand knit squid and octopus by knitsybitsy.com. When you live in Brooklyn you are never far from home.

Ah, you’re in my old stomping grounds. The Walker is a wonderfully unique museum.
